Diet Pills
The battle for weight control can be more than frustrating. It can leave you bewildered, angry and suffering. Many people battling obesity and even those who are moderately overweight find it terribly difficult to shed pounds and keep them off, even for a short time. This can leave you looking for other answers, when your diet fails you. Diet pills may seem like the perfect solution to your problem. These pills make some very large promises - you'll have more energy, lose weight and do it in such as short time! However, diet pills can be more than dangerous.
There are three main categories of diet pills - those that work, those that don't work and those that cause harm. Some pills are nothing more than placebos; they have very little (or none at all) of the herbs and supplements they purport to contain. Other diet pills can hurt your or even kill you - remember fen phen? Other diet pills do actually work, but they do so for a variety of reasons.
Before you choose any type of diet pill, you need to know what you're looking for. Do you want a holistic approach to your weight loss? If so, you'll need an herbal supplement to help you lose weight. Things like black cohosh, cranberry extract, acai berry juice and many others are supposed to help you lose weight. However, you need to read the ingredients list (and sometimes even this doesn't help much) to discover if the pills actually have any of the herbs and supplements in their formulation.
If you prefer a medical approach, you have other options on the market. There are diet pills that help trap fat in your stomach (before it's metabolized) and eliminate it from your system. Still others work by stimulating your system, much like caffeine. This gives you more energy and makes you more active, helping you lose weight.
Of course, no diet pill will be able to help you lose weight and keep it off forever. For real results, you'll still need to put in some effort. You need to change your eating habits (yes, put down the triple-layer chocolate cake and back away!). You'll also need to exercise. The dreaded "E" word is one of the best ways to cut down on your size, shed those pounds, tune up your ticker and keep healthy. While a diet pill might help you achieve short-term results, only a lifestyle change can give you long-term benefits.
